It is the five-year anniversary of the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol, and today some local groups are hosting what they call the “Cascadia Moon Protest Event.”
The group will be protesting on the Allen Street Bridge between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. In a post, they said, “On January 6th, 2021, Donald J. Trump and his MAGA cult attempted to overthrow the United States government and destroy our democracy. We will never forget.”
They say this protest is about raising your voice and fighting against fascism, saying no to ICE, raising awareness for LGBTQIA+ rights, and more.
